THE GREATEST COMMANDMENTS

October 25, 2020 - 30th Sunday in Ordinary Time

"You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your mind. This is the greatest and first commandment. And a second is like it: You shall love your neighbor as yourself." (Matthew 22.37-39)

Loving is simple, but true love does not come cheap. It demands renouncing some of our time and resources. It requires putting our own comfort and pleasure to one side, and it compels us to rearrange our priorities and programs.
In the Eucharist we receive the ultimate proof of God's love: the life-giving Body and Blood of Jesus; and by sharing in one bread and one chalice, we become one body of brothers and sisters.
Let love guide our thoughts, control our minds, and motivate our actions.
Let us recognize him in every person and, inspired by Mary, let us infiltrate all corners of the world with God's hope, life, and love.
