Fr. Zé: Reassignment Announcement

"Here I am, send me" (Isaiah 6:8)

This is to inform you that our Pastor, Fr. Zé is leaving St. Andrew's.  He has been given a new assignment in Rome.  Fr. Zé will continue to be the Pastor until November 30th; and will leave Toronto on December 3rd, to visit his family in Portugal and then travel to Rome to take up his new assignment in January 2021.

Until a new Pastor is appointed, Fr. George Kibura will be the Administrator of the Parish, in accordance with the directives of the Archdiocese.  We want to assure Fr. Zé that our community will give the new Pastor and the Associate Pastor all the necessary help and support required, because this is our Parish.

I'm sure that we may all be saddened by the news that Fr. Zé is leaving the Parish especially during this difficult time of the Pandemic.  However, we must be happy for him.  The Consolata Missionaries need him and he has accepted the request from his Superior General in the spirit of obedience, the vow that he professes and to which he is joyfully bound.

Father's tenure at St. Andrew's Church has enriched our community significantly.  We are sorry that he will not be present for the start of the Church and Hall renovation project but we know that his thoughts and prayers will be with us.  Over the past few years Fr. Zé has worked diligently with our Finance Council to advance this project and as a result of his leadership, he will be leaving us with enough self confidence and commitment to see this project come to fruition.

We are very grateful for the 8 years that he has been with us and we pray that the Lord will reward him for all that he has done for us here at St. Andrew's. We wish him well in his new appointment.

On behalf of all the parishioners, I want to thank him for his dedicated service to our community.  His hard work and commitment have made us a more caring and cohesive community.  I know I will miss him very much but thanks to technology, I'm sure we will keep in touch.

We also pray that the good Lord will continue to watch over all of us and keep us safe during this Pandemic.

God bless!

Father, we are very grateful for the 8 years you have been with us at St. Andrews. We wish you well in your new appointment and we pray that the Lord will reward you abundantly for the commitment and dedication with which you served this community over the years.  On behalf of all the parishioners, thank you very much; we will miss you.  May the good Lord continue to watch over us all.

Anthony Joseph
